Can anyone recommend a Tapo equivalent Audio-only recorder

Hi,

I have multiple Tapo cameras and find their ability to record locally to SSD, and make the video accessible remotely works really well.

But the quality of the audio they record has never been that great.

I'm looking for an equivalent Audio-only recorder (video not required) that can give me better audio quality than the standard Tapo camera.

i.e. I want it to be able to trigger on audio above a threshold, store the audio to a local SSD, and be able to access the SSD audio files remotely over wifi.

I thought TP-link might do one, but don't see it on their website.

So can anyone recommend something that might be suitable.

Thanks in advance.

  @Ian_G

Hi,
We do not have an equivalent Audio-only recorder now. In your case, can you hear the audio from the camera properly when watching the camera's Live feed or video recordings with the Tapo app? If so, you may use the Tapo app to manage the camera remotely.
Best Regards

  @Solla-topee Hi Tapo audio, live or recorded, has never been great quality on any of the cameras I have. Plus I don't need any video recording capability for my current task, so I don't want to use a Tapo camera in this instance (even if it was capable of recording the audio better). I just want to trigger and record audio-only input above a certain audio threshold, and access the audio-only recordings remotely. I was hoping someone could point me at an audio-only equivalent. Thanks anyway.
