Model: Tapo C720
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.2

I'm using Scrypted to bring my camera into HKSV, but the motion recordings aren't working because motion events aren't firing in Scrypted via local ONVIF. The local ONVIF video streams are working, I can see both of them in VLC, and Scrypted and Homekit are also showing the stream.

Motion events are working fine in the Tapo app.

In case it is important, I've blocked the camera IP from the internet and I've put an SD card in the camera. The date and time on the video timestamp are correct.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Hi,
Can you receive the motion detection notification on the VLC/iSpy app when the camera detects a motion?
Best Regards

@Solla-topee How do I do that in VLC? I've searched around but don't see any instructions. I don't have iSpy.

I have noticed a similar issue with motion notifications via ONVIF on my TC55 (which I think is identical to the C720), also firmware version 1.2.2. I also have an SD card in the camera and have blocked it from the internet.

Motion notification functionality appears to depend on whether the ONVIF consumer is set up to receive updates via PullPoint or Webhooks. My Scrypted setup uses PullPoint, and it receives general motion events, but not smart events (Person, Pet, etc).

I also have the camera integrated with Home Assistant, and that connection defaults to using Webhooks. Unfortunately, motion notifications do not seem to work at all via Webhook.
