Phenomenon description:

After updating the Tapo camera's firmware to the above version, the Pan & Tilt feature is no longer working when trying to control the camera on some specific third-party apps(such as Frigate) via Onvif protocol.
However, the Pan & Tilt feature on the Tapo app still works great.

Workaround:

The Tapo C500 V1 &  TC40 V1 have fully released the new official firmware (version 1.3.2 Build 250108 Rel.40063n) that solves this issue.

The Tapo C220 V1 & TC72 V1 have fully released the new official firmware (version 1.2.5 Build 241224 Rel.40956n) that solves this issue.

The Tapo C510W V1 & TC41 V1 have fully released the new official firmware (version 1.3.3 Build 250228 Rel.56467n) that solves this issue.

The Tapo C200 V5, TC70 V5, and C200C V5 have fully released the new official firmware (version 1.1.8 Build 250310 Rel.73289n) that solves this issue.

It's recommended to update the firmware of these camera models to the latest one on the Tapo app to solve the issue.

  @Solla-topee

Greetings. I am having similar problems with PTZ over ONVIF but the Tapo app works fine. I believe it might be a firmware issue.

I am using a C520WS V2.0 on the latest firmware version 1.2.1 Build 250911 Rel.44761n and PTZ controlled via ONVIF only partially works.

I can tell the camera to tilt up or down and it will stop when a stop command is issued. This is the expected behavior.

There is a problem when the camera is told to pan left or right. The camera ignores all stop commands and rotates until it reaches the end of its physical range. This is unexpected behavior.

The only way to interrupt a pan before it reaches the end of its range is by issuing a tilt and stop command.

I was not able to test it on firmware 1.0.2 out of the box before updating so I don't know if it ever worked 100% however I have tried the same ONVIF app with a C200 V5.0 on firmware 1.0.17 and pan-tilt-stop works properly as expected.

  @ThisIsFine

Hi,
What ONVIF app are you using to pan or tilt the Tapo camera?

You can refer to the instructions below to stream and control the Tapo C520WS in the Agent DVR software and test whether the Pan & Tilt control works properly.
