Model: Tapo C325WB
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.4 Build 240822 Rel. 58658n

Hello,

My new Tapo C325WB camera fails to work on ONVIF as regards the events sending feature, with various software NVRs including Qnap QVR Elite (which I mainly use) and also with ODM 2.2.250.

RTSP works fine, I can see the live stream in VLC and other software.

I can configure the camera in various NVR software systems, including QVR Elite which also detects it automatically. The software can connect to it, and can set stream quality properties, etc.

However, no motion event is received by the NVR software at all, although events are generated and sent to the official Tapo mobile app.

I have an older Tapo camera (C210) that works just fine with the same system. Also, all my IMOU cameras work, only this Tapo C325WB fails to actually provide ONVIF functionality for any detection events.

Using the ODM (ONVIF Device Manager) on Windows, the camera is detected, all information is retrieved, but when entering the Events section it throws an error: "Error during event subscription: The remote server returned an unexpected response: (400) Bad Request." See the screenshot below.

It seems the ONVIF implementation for event subscription (I assume PullPoint) is faulty and somehow returnes an error for ONVIF requests that work with other cameras including some made by TP-Link.

Please provide a fix, as for me ONVIF is essential and is one of the main reasons I bought this camera (the other being the low light sensor).

Below, a screenshot of the ODM tool.

Thanks,
Dan

I am posting this just to provide an update for interested users.

After a high quality dialog with the excellent TP-Link support team, the problem was solved. There was an incompatibility between the camera and the NVR software made by QNAP, and the TP-Link team contacted the QNAP team who provided a sofware update for their QVR Elite. The version that works on my TS-230 NAS is QVR Elite 2.7.0 (previously was 2.6.1).

I had a very fruitful discussion with the TP-Link team, the level of support was exceptional, which is to be commended. They proved to be very good professionals, analysed in detail all the information I exchanged with them during this time, and the problem was solved completely. Congratulations to the TP-Link employees and to the company, you really deserve it!

  @Solla-topee Hello,

Thank you for your answer!

I already have a log file, because I tried to see whether I can figure out what is happening. I put it on Google Drive, as the forum does not let me attach it here even if I changed the extension. You can find it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fyAdiXVMKRmzZUBoqkeAK8gbm3th-jX5/view?usp=drive_link
