Firmware Version: 1.0.12

My home WiFi is Verizon Fios G3100 with (2) E3200 extenders which form a whole

home mesh network which has been exceptionally stable with many dozens of different devices that I own. I've configured TapoC225 for Static IP and Tapo app shows signal strength of -35 RSSI (excellent). Generally this camera works great and I love it BUT randomly every few days it would go offline. I then tried the AutoReboot daily option but still I find many days the camera is offline.  
 

This is unacceptable for a security device I cannot trust this camera. How to fix or should I return this for a refund?

 

PS, I'm a software engineer with a masters degree so I understand these technologies better than most home consumers.

You can refer to the following instructions to troubleshoot if the Tapo camera keeps going offline.
What should I do if my Tapo smart device keeps losing connection or going offline?
 

The settings on the mesh network may also affect the device connectivity. Here take the Deco network as an example, you can check if the relevant settings also exist on your home mesh network.
Optimize IoT Device Stability with Mesh Networks (myQ, Ring, Shelly, etc.)

Forgot to mention that power cycling the C225 always “fixes” the connection right away. But this only works for a few hours or days maximum before Offline.
