Model: Tapo C200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.4.2

How could I downgrade to the previous firmware version?

The camera worked fine for a long time, and today, after updating it, not only does it freeze, but it also no longer recognizes the memory card.

(It tells me to insert a card – I’ve tested multiple compatible cards that meet the requirements, and nothing happens. I also reset the camera, and it’s the same.

Hi,
The new firmware of the Tapo C200 is not intentionally designed to push users toward using cloud or hub services. For the reported issue, please confirm the following information.

  1. What's the model number and capacity of the inserted SD card?

  2. After you insert the SD card into the camera, have you formatted it via the Tapo app? If not, please format it on the Tapo app and then check if it will work.

  3. Please go to the camera's Device Settings > Detection page and send me a picture of this page. Then, go to the Storage & Recording page and take pictures of both the Local Storage and Recording Schedule pages.

Best Regards

I managed to format a card on the laptop and get it recognized after 2–3 failed attempts. The problem is that although the camera sees the card and the recording settings are configured, it still doesn't record. Clearly, the update messed up the camera, or it was intentionally designed to push users toward using cloud or hub services.

  @Solla-topee

 Of course it was formatted with Tapo, actually several times until it worked.

The cards are Sandisk Extreme 64GB, and I also tried with a Kingston.

Hi,
Please refer to the following instructions to collect the camera log for analysis. You can let someone move in front of the camera and then check if any videos are recorded.
How to get the log of Tapo Camera
Best Regards
