Tapo C410 many problems

1) It misses scene recording. One example is this: I came out to pick up something. The recording does not catch my movement (out of the door and back into the house), but only the end result: the thing I picked up is gone. It is probably related to its so-called wake-up latency. Don't tell me about sensibility setting.
2) When it detects a person or movement etc., the app may show an alert message or may not (but hte recording is there), this indicates a reliability issue. Furthermore, even when the app gets an alert, it NEVER passes the message to my phone's Notification Center. My phone always gets notifications from other devices (C210 and C202) but NOT this C410.
The hardware version of C410 is 1.20

Hi,
1. You can see the Tapo C410 V1's Operating Temperature and Operating Humidity on its Specifications page on our official website.
2. If you have received two notifications for the same clip, please verify if the two notifications are different. For example, one is person-detected notification and the other is motion-detected notification. If the clip shows a person moving, it's normal to receive two notifications for the clip.
3. The time it takes to wake up the camera by event is related to the camera's settings, position, and your actions. In this case, you can confirm the following information for further analysis if only part of the action is recorded.
1) How long is the unrecorded portion of the action?
2) At what height is the Tapo C410 mounted?
3) Please send us a picture of the camera's Live View page.
4) Send us the video showing the reported phenomenon.
You can upload the video and picture to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.
You can set the wake-up sensitivity to 10 and check if it helps.
Best Regards

Hi,
1. The battery-powered cameras typically remain in a low-power sleep state and can only detect events when awake. The phenomenon you report may be caused by the camera's inability to be awakened by the actions you took, which is usually related to the camera's detection settings, position, and your actions. You can refer to Part 2 of the following instructions to check your camera settings and position.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?
If the phenomenon remains, please confirm the following information.
1) Go to the camera's Device Settings > Detection page and check which detection types are enabled, as well as their corresponding sensitivity values. Please also check the wake-up sensitivity value and send it to us.
2) Try to reproduce the pick-up action that was not detected by the camera, and go to the camera's live view page to record the action manually. Then, you can upload the video to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.
2. Please go to the camera's Device Settings > Notifications page and send me a screenshot of this page and the Activity Type page.
Please send me the video recording that shows a person or motion was detected, but you haven't received a notification. It would be appreciated if the video showed the date and time when the event was detected.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee Thanks a lot for the reply and the link that explains the wake-up trigger. I didn't expect that PIR is used not only for night, but also for day time. That gives me even more concern: would it be reasonably reliable during sunny and hot days?
I am using person and motion detection, and the sensitivity was at 7 and 8 respectively. I have adjusted the wake-up sensitivity from 7 to 8 and will give it a try.
This evening I also noticed two things: 1) I got two notifications just 1 second apart, but actually there was only one clip. 2) I went out to dump a bag which should be within 1 minute. That recorded video shows only part of it: it did not capture that I walked out of the door and it did not capture my return.
I believe it is a fundamental design issue: Because it uses PIR, and because it does not do continuous recording, it is bound to miss a second or two of the beginning of motion. It is very clear: the PIR takes a bit time to trigger the wake-up, then it starts recording, that's where things get missed out in the recording.
I think, if imaging processing (i.e. not using PIR) takes too much power that solar panel can't cope with, the only solution is to enable continuous recording. Users may choose the time period of recording and may use less frames or resolutions to save power. Don't forget, although it is called battery powered, it does provide an USB-C port so that users can do wired power supply - in this case power consumption is not an issue to these users.
While I do think continuous recording is doable, I have the feeling that C410 will never get it. The reason: I have noticed the market is dumping C410 (since I bought it, the price has dropped twice, each time around 20%). I guess it may soon disappear from the market.
BTW, I have noticed there is a very high sensitivity here: I was saying I went out to dump r-a-b-i-s-h, I got a warning so I have to remove that word.
