Model: Tapo C520WS
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.2

Hello,

I've been using the Tapo 520WS for about two months. Initially, it worked perfectly. However, for the past week, I’ve been experiencing a persistent issue.

I have several viewpoints configured to quickly access specific areas, and I usually leave one of them set as the default. Before, when the camera detected my pet, it would follow the movement, and once the tracking stopped, it returned automatically to the default viewpoint — as expected.

Now, the problem is that after tracking, the camera returns to the default viewpoint slightly misaligned, especially along the vertical axis, and this misalignment gets worse over time. It seems like the camera loses its internal reference, because even when I switch to other viewpoints, they all maintain that same offset.

I can temporarily fix it by doing a pan & tilt correction, which brings the camera back to proper alignment. After that, all viewpoints work correctly again — until another tracking event causes the offset to reappear. At this point, it's becoming frustrating to have to manually correct the position two or three times a day.

I'm attaching a reference image showing the correct viewpoint, and a screenshot from the live view with the offset, where it's clear the camera is no longer covering the same area.

Best regards,
Freddy

Hi @Solla-topee,

One of my C520WS cameras produces similar symptom. (The other one isn't set to follow movements) FW version is 1.3.4

After some times, it looses initial position after the any movement moves it out from that.

Based on the recommended solution, I'll contact the support directly adding the mentioned details/screenshots once the issue appears again. Today I rebooted the camera and initiated pan&tilt correction. Waiting for the issue to appear...

Thank you.

Regards,
