Model: Tapo C410
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Recently bought a Tapo C410 camera. Upon first startup everything worked as intended. The camera successfully connected to my WiFi network. After live image appeared, the Tapo app recommended a firmware update. I decided to start the update, since the connection proved to be stabil. During the update, the Tapo app froze multiple times, but didn't crash. After some time, both the camera and the app restarted. When the restart happened, the connected camera no longer appeared in the app. I tried to re-connect it but the process gets stuck on "pairing" (after selecting WiFi network). The camera plays a tone and the app says the pairing was unsuccessful. The indicator led on the front of the camera is in the correct stage before trying to connect it, blinking red and green, signaling it's ready to connect.

Already tried the followings, without any success:

-reseting the camera with the Reset button

-reseting the router

-redownloading the app

-setting up a Guest network with the recommended settings (2.4Ghz only, Channel 6, fixed 20Mhz, different name and password)

-using a different smartphone, with different OS

The problem is, I can't even search for another firmware update, since the app can't get the camera past the pairing stage.

I'd love to try a manual update rollback via SD card (if possible) but I can't find any installer I could use for the process.

Hi,
We do not have instructions to downgrade the camera's firmware. In this case, please try the following steps.

  1. Power off the camera and remove the SD card if there is one. Power on the camera, wait for two minutes, and press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds to perform a factory reset.
  2. Enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, configure your camera with another phone, connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi, and then check if you can set it up successfully. If the same error message appears, please check the LED status on the camera.
  3. If you can set up the camera successfully, please ensure its firmware is up to date. Then, please factory reset it again and try to connect it to your router.

Best Regards
