Privacy Shutter Control to Shared Contact

Privacy Shutter Control to Shared Contact

Model: Tapo C125
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I want to setup a rule for all members of my family - when one of the arrived home, automatically turn on the privacy shutter of the cam.

The problem I am facing is, the privacy control only allowed for the owner of the device but not to the family member who being shared the control of this device in the Tapo App.

Is there a way to achieve the same without the need to need to setup a rule on each of the family members to control the shutter directly?   Or can we add the feature to allow the control of the shutter from the shared contact?

Hi,
The shared account does not have permission to turn on/off the camera's privacy mode. For the feature request to allow the shared account to turn on/off the camera's privacy mode, you can vote on the thread "grant/deny permissions for a shared device" and share your usage scenario for evaluation.

If you have two phones that log in to the Tapo app with the owner account, you can add an automation entry as below to turn on the camera's privacy mode.
  1. On a phone, log in to the Tapo app, go to the Smart tab to add an automation entry to turn on the camera's privacy mode when this phone arrives home.
  2. After this automation entry is completed, go to the second phone, log in to the Tapo app, go to the Smart tab, find the existing automation entry, and click on it, then tap Add Trigger to add another arrive home trigger, then save the changes.

Best Regards

@tp-user-9413 Yes, both phones need to log into the Tapo app using the owner's account.
