Lack of Google Home connectivity
I know I'm not the first to report this issue (by a long shot!) But what a letdown!!
I purchased this because I already have a number of devices linked to my Google Home and so the first thing I looked for when shopping was Google Home connectivity - yep logo on box so all good - NOT!
I spent a couple of hours setting it up only to discover that, while it worked perfectly within the native app and 'appeared' to connect successfully to Google Home, the screen was black with an error message. I followed all of the suggestions given after a Google search but (as you already know) to no avail. Then I stumbled on this thread and saw the huge number of people with the identical problem - not just with the model I have but with every other tapo camera. What was worse it has been an issue for some time!
How can tp-link continue to emblazon their product boxes with that logo while knowing that it is untrue and continue to mislead who knows how many customers in the future!!!
Looks like I'll be taking my camera down, heading back to the retailer, demanding a refund and warning them that all of their tapo stock does not live up to the promise on the box!
