Is there a solution to the following Tapo app Google Home integration problems:
1. There are no automations permitted within Google Home for this doorbell, only a Voice Notifications permission on/off toggle.
2. Person detection notifications are continuing to be received on Google Home and broadcast to connected speakers. Trying to ONLY to receive broadcast notifications when doorbell is pressed.
Tapo app is properly connected to GH.
Notifications for event detection events are turned OFF in the Tapo app for doorbell currently.

Tried again turning event detection ON for Person and Package only as a test; BUT resulted in same Google speaker notifications of person detection when I only want phone notifications from the TAPO app for detections, and want Google speaker notifications ONLY for doorbell ring.
This is the FIRST problem with your integration implementation that requires a fix.
SECOND PROBLEM: Without detections turned on, I CANNOT receive phone notifications using the TAPO app Smart features, as this would mean having to receive audio broadcast notifications which I do NOT want.
What is the solution being worked on to solve for this problem at this time?
This renders the doorbell app inadequate for proper notifications, for which it is purposed.

Just wanted to hop on this thread, I have the same issue with the same doorbell. I would like to be able to detect events, but not have these events announced through the Google Home speakers - while I do want doorbell presses announced on the Google Home Speakers. Looking forward to, hopefully, a solution. Thank you.

Hi. I have similar issues with my D235 video doorbell, I also want audio broadcast from google speakers for doorbell pressed only, but not for any other detections. I tried to implement the google home automation that you suggested but that did not function at all.
One thing that may be relevant is when I integrated the doorbell into the google home app it created a new network?? I cannot see this network in my google home app. Now if I select the doorbell from the google home app I can see the settings but not the live video.
I get notifications of detection and doorbell pressed on my phone both at home on the same WiFi and away from home on mobile network.

Thank you for your feedback. I understand that you want your Google speakers to announce only when the doorbell button is pressed, and not when the doorbell camera detects other events. After investigation, unfortunately, this behavior cannot be achieved right now. It is not only related to the doorbell camera but also to Google Home.
The Tapo doorbell camera typically sends notifications to Google for both(when the doorbell is pressed and an event is detected). Google Home currently can't distinguish between these two notifications, so both trigger announcements on Google speakers.
We will record your request and forward it to the relevant team so they can evaluate and improve our camera. In addition, we recommend that you contact the Google Support team to submit your feature request as well.
Generally, integrating the Tapo D235 into the Google Home app won't create a new network. You can refer to the instructions below to stream the camera on a Google device, and view Q1 in the QA part to know why you can't stream our camera's live feed in the Google Home app.

Given that the notifications from the doorbell to google home cannot discriminate between an activity alert and a doorbell press is it possible, in your experience, to trigger an automation either in the tapo app or Google home to make an announcement on the nest speakers when the doorbell is pressed?

Hi,
The automation entry in the Tapo app is unable to control a Google device. In the Google Home app, the 'doorbell ring' trigger seems to only work with the Nest Doorbell camera. Therefore, the scenario you want currently can't be achieved.
