For the reported phenomenon, please confirm the following information.

  1. On the Tapo app > camera's Device Settings > Detection page, please check what detection types are enabled.

  2. When your camera detects birds/dogs, do you receive a motion-detected notification or a person-detected notification? If you receive a person-detected notification, it should be the camera falsely detecting motion as a person; you can refer to Case 2 in the following instructions to troubleshoot.

  3. If you receive a motion-detected notification, please send me a screenshot of your camera's Notification page.

Thank you for the information provided. It seems the camera falsely detects birds/dogs as a person. You can refer to Case 2 in the following instructions to troubleshoot.

If the same phenomenon persists, please provide the following information for further analysis.
  1. What sensitivity value is set for the Person Detection?
  2. Please send us a screenshot of the camera's Detection Zone page.
  3. Please send us a video showing that the camera detects birds/dogs as a person.
  4. On average, how many false alerts are you receiving per day?
  5. Providing a picture showing the physical location and orientation of your camera installation helps us understand its field of view and the surrounding environment.

You can upload the video and pictures to your cloud server (such as Google Drive), generate a download link, and send it to me (@Solla-topee) via a private message.
