Hello TP-Link / Tapo Customer Support Team,

I’m currently using a Tapo camera system including 1× Tapo C320WB and 3× Tapo C320WS. All cameras are connected using wired Ethernet (LAN) as the primary network connection (not Wi-Fi).

I’m facing a recurring issue: whenever my Internet connection becomes unstable or temporarily goes down, after the Internet is restored the cameras often fail to reconnect automatically and remain Offline in the Tapo app. I have tried waiting, rebooting the modem/router, and basic troubleshooting, but in many cases the cameras only recover after a factory reset and full re-setup, which is extremely time-consuming and disrupts home security monitoring.

Hi,
For the reported phenomenon, please confirm the following information.

  1. After the internet connection goes down and then recovers, please disconnect the Ethernet cable from the camera and connect the cable to a PC. Do you have internet on the PC? Then please reconnect the Ethernet cable to the camera, reboot it, and check whether it works.
  2. Have you powered the camera with the original power adapter and power cord that come with it in the box?
  3. What's the model number of your router? Please describe your network diagram in detail.

Best Regards
