I am not suggesting adding a detection category, but updating existing person detection to continue to track the detected person when their body below their head and shoulders (and also below their head with shoulders out of view if possible) goes out of view — for example behind a vehicle, behind a hedge, or below the extremity of the camera's vertical viewing capability when the subject passes directly under the camera.
