Model: Tapo C310
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0

Hello folks!

I am requesting a manual firmware push for one of my Tapo C310 (V1.0) cameras.

I currently own two identical C310 V1.0 units. All have successfully updated to v1.3.16, but one unit which is stuck on v1.3.0 and reports that it is "Up to Date."

Because this camera is on the older firmware, I am unable to use the improved Detection Zones and person detection functionalities that are available on my other camera. This makes it difficult to keep my security settings consistent across my home.

Device Details:

Model: Tapo C310

Hardware Version: 1.0

Current Firmware: 1.3.0

Region: Italy

I have already tried rebooting the camera and clearing the app cache, but the update still does not appear.

I have the MAC address for the specific camera ready. Could you please let me know if I should send it to you via Private Message (PM) to have the firmware pushed to my device?

Thank you for your help!

Hi,
The latest firmware v1.3.16 for the Tapo C310 V1 has been fully released. If your camera can't detect the new firmware, it may be that the camera is not connected to our cloud server.

Please turn off the Wi-Fi on your phone and use mobile data, then check if you can control the specific Tapo C310 remotely. If not, please follow the steps in the instructions below to troubleshoot.
What to do if I can't control my Tapo cameras on the Tapo app?

You can also enable hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, factory reset the camera, reconfigure it on a different phone, connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi, and then check whether you can detect the new firmware and update it in the Tapo app.

Best Regards

@Solla-topee the camera Is remotely accessible. I'm controlling all my cameras via Internet from a remote location. Thus I don't see why the camera should not be able to detect a new FW as available.

I could try to factory reset the cameras but that would require me to be on site, which is not gonna happen soon.

How can I go check if the camera is connected you your servers? I'm just assuming it is since it's remotely accessible.

Can you better explain whats the device checking for the new FW? Is the camera itself or the app on the phone?

Hi,
Usually, if your camera can be controlled remotely in the Tapo app, it's connected to our cloud server. When a new firmware is fully released for a camera's model number & hardware version, all cameras connected to our cloud server with the same model & hardware version can detect it. After you tap Check for Update on your camera's Device Settings > Firmware Update page, the camera will check whether new firmware is available.

You can try to factory reset the camera and reconfigure it when you are convenient. Please also go to the camera's Device Settings > Firmware Update page, tap Check for Update, and then send me (@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address via a private message for checking.

Best Regards
