Model: Tapo C310
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.9.1 Build 251222

Hello All,

I have three C310 V2s, and all worked without any issues with IObroker and the Tapo adapter version 0.4.8 with firmware version 1.5.1 Build 251011. Today, one camera was updated to 1.9.1 Build 251222, and the adapter found the camera, but the error message "Get camera status failed" appeared, as well as "No stok found for: xxxx." and the camera is not connected to the adapter.

I also have three C212s, and they have worked fine with the 1.5.2 firmware (Build 251210) for over a year with IO-Broker.

The automatic firmware update feature has been disabled for all cameras because it is too dangerous.

I have an extra C310 V2 and will replace the camera with version 1.9.1.

Question: How can I downgrade to version 1.5.1 Build 251011 ? Can I download the firmware and downgrade it via SD card, as is done with other cameras ?

thanks and regards,

Stefan

  @SteWa

Hi,
We do not have the instructions to downgrade the camera's firmware. In your situation, please go to the Tapo app > Me > Third-Party Services > Third-Party Compatibility page, enable the Third-Party Compatibility option, then check whether your Tapo C310 can work with IoBroker again.
Please note that IoBroker is an open-source platform and TP-Link has not officially advertised support for it, so enabling this option does not guarantee seamless integration. If you still encounter issues after enabling compatibility, we recommend contacting the IoBroker support team for further assistance.
Best Regards

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned, it was a firmware update, so the third-party compatibility option was already enabled.
However, I know that neither IOBroker nor Home Assistant is supported or listed in any TP-Link (Tapo) document.
After encountering this issue, I did some research and found that it had been mentioned in December on other forums, not just in relation to the C310.
Hopefully, TAPO cameras have not locked out IOB and HA. This would enable the IOB and HA community to update their agents so that they can work with TAPO cameras again with the latest firmware as these products are good and easy to implement.

Kind Regards
