Things You May Want To Know

1. Is Smart Action 2.0 available for Kasa devices?

Yes! In addition to the skills supported in the Kasa App itself, syncing your Kasa device to the Tapo App will give you the ability to turn on additional skill permissions for your Kasa device!

2. When will the Smart Action 2.0 be officially released?

Smart Action 2.0 will probably be available to everyone between Q1 to Q2 of 2024, so stay tuned! Keep posted by subscribing to this article, or pay attention to the release note of the new App version.

3. Why can't I manage my automation or shortcut rules suddenly?

Smart Action 2.0 feature is available in the testing version 3.2.204(Android) and 3.2.206 (iOS) only. The smart action rules created or saved through the testing version cannot be edited on other App versions. But they're still visible and take effect.

If you have enabled the App auto-update, the new version is likely to overwrite the testing version.

Smart Action 2.0 trial test has ended now. Stay tuned to the official release!

Hi,

Is this Smart Action 2.0 meaning include, for example, trigger C420 camera recording smart action response when T100 sensor detects motion?

I sent you also a PM looking forward to participate in the beta process. Thank you in advance.

I haven't received any early access invitation. Have you been able to send the invitation, or do you know when you'll be able to send it?

Thanks,

Does it improve the sensitivity of the temperature control settings to at least within a 0.5 degree range?   (T315 linked with a P110 smart plug)

Hi Wayne,

What I would really like to see in the Tapo ecosystem is the ability to call a webhook from a trigger within the Tapo app. I purchased the buttons with a view to control home entertainment (Sonos) via IFTTT. Webhooks open up a whole host of possibilities, and the buttons are very limited without these.

Failing the ability to call a webhook from the Tapo app, having Tapo buttons as trigger devices in IFTTT would enable a link through to webhooks via that proxy. Calling webhooks directly would be better though!

Really hope to see that functionality come online sometime soon.

Of what is there, the notifications sound good, particularly useful to have the doorbell notify that it has been rung on my phone. Obviously, if webhooks were available this would be possible anyway!

Cheers,
Steve

Has anybody had issues with motions not working correctly?

motion triggers to turn it on just fine.  But will not turn back off when no motion is detected.

@Wayne-TP  do you have a fix or updated bug fix for this?

Automations with multiple actions and delays are not stopped when they are disabled by another automation. They just keep doing the actions till the end, which is a bug.

The stable version stopped the automations immediately when disabled, as it should.

@Wayne-TP I've sent e PM to particapte to the beta test, how long does it takes to receive the app update ?

Re:

Disabling automation entry does not stop triggered but unexecuted actions, such as those with delay settings.

As far as I know, both previous versions and the currently tested version do not support canceling pending executions of automation.

If this situation is common in your scenarios, you can vote for this feature request here. Highly requested features are prioritized for evaluation by the product team.

Hello @Wayne-TP,

How can we manage multiple devices with geofencing to trigger notifications from T110 only when all devices are left from home ?

Furthermore, is there any plan to add "home mode" and "leave mode" as automation trigger or action ?

Within the if conditions, there are only 'privacy' mode settings available for the cameras.
Is it possible to have an option for motion detection by the camera within if conditions?

Essentially, what I'm trying to do is to trigger an alarm on the hub if a camera detects motion first AND a contact sensor is open.
