Tapo C310 Camera has stopped recording activity suddenly after SD card was full?
Tapo C310 Camera has stopped recording activity suddenly after SD card was full?
Hi All,
I am a slightly confused as recently (as of 2 days!) my Tapo C310 camera has stopped recording any activity that takes place.
I can still view all motion through the app as normal, however when you click on recordings there is no data there.
I did recently get the notification that my Tapo storage is full, however I do have loop recording on and reading other posts on the forum it seems that the recording is meant to overwrite the older recordings and begin recording as normal again.
Please could I have some support on this as it would be much appreciated?
I have attached an image to show loop recording is on but it says I am only limited to one image. The other image showed rhat "continuous recording" is ticked on the recording schedule.
Many thanks

Hi,
It's hard to say if the problem is the camera's detection feature not working or the storage feature not working.
1. Please refer to the instructions below to confirm if your detection settings are correct.
What to do if the Detection feature is not working on the TP-Link Camera?
2. On the camera's Device Settings>Notifications page, is the notification feature enabled? If you see the Activity Type option, please ensure that motion detection and person detection are selected.
3. If your settings are correct, you can move in front of the camera and then check if you can receive a new notification on the Tapo app>Home tab>Bell icon>your camera page.
4. On the camera's Device Settings>Storage & Recording>Recording Schedule page, please tap Edit at the top right corner>select continuous recordings for all time, save the changes, and then check if there are video recordings stored on the SD card.
Best Regards

Same situation on C320WS. No new records since today. SD was formatted, no change, settings verified, no change. Firmware: 1.1.5 Build 240605 Rel.49436n

@Sjav_00 I too have the same issue with my Tapos and hub. I use SanDisk 256 Ultra SD Card, it is in continuous (loop not Looping), and when it gets full it just stops working have to erase it all and start over, been fighting with this since I bought it new a few months ago. I have been in electronic engineering and tech for decades, but long since retired, but keep up a local network at home. if I check continuous, it means that! not full and dump for it to save one bit more! IMHO. I really like the equipment, but I need it to work fo rmy family and wife and they don't have th tech skills if I am gone.
Tapo 2k QHD outdoor wireless camera system and C420 hub. (can't copy and paste here.. :(

Hi,
Do you mean you have enabled the Loop Recording feature on the camera/hub's Local Storage page, but you need to format the SD card manually when it's full to make it work again?
If so, does any error appear when the SD card is full on the Tapo app? How do you confirm the SD card is full/not working?
How many cameras do you have? Are they Tapo C420 and storing the video clips on the SD card inserted into the same hub?

@Sjav_00 hi I'm having the same exact issue right now, the camera works but recordings of movements do not get saved on the Sd card which I already formatted from my phone. Did you managed to find a solution for this, I would much appreciate it if you did and shared how can this be resolved!

@Sjav_00 Yes I have two cameras. SDCard does not fully fill up. 256GB, it maybe gets to 30GB or less. and it has files, but most are no longer accessible by the Tapo software. I think I tried both reformatting the SDcard and wiping it... neither seemed to help. Should not have to remove SD Card to look at and download the videos on my computer. Right now I had to remove one of the cameras because it stopped working and was RMA'd. That is another story of going through the wringer to get it replaced. I don't understasnd foreign languages in the RMA huge hassle!!! But after a zillion hours of taking photos and telling them they finally caved, they probably spent $300 to prevent me from RMA the 2 dollar (I could not use $ sign, against community rules.. crazy place) camera. Back to the SD Card. Yes it has a recording issue and I have the sale receinpt to shwo them I used approved SD Card and such. I have been working with engineering and a degree in electronics and computer since the 1980's. I think their software is buggy and their hardware is made very cheap. When it works it works. When it doesn't it doesn't. I don't have time right now to think, but maybe more later.
