Hi,

 

I have two Tapo c210/HW v1.0/Firmware 1.3.16 at home. They are super fine and working properly.

 

I have recently got another Tapo c210. It came with hardware v2.0. But when I set it up. The app says "this smart device can only be controlled locally" and the camera icon disappears from the app as soon as I switch my phone to cellular or another network. The light on the camera is solid amber.

 

The new Tapo c210 is connected to the same wifi network with exactly the same settings of the old c210 cameras. I do not have any firewall setup and the Internet is available to the cameras.

 

I also tried to update the firmware on the new Tapo but the app says the firmware is up to date.

 

Any help please?

You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot.
What to do if I can't control my Tapo cameras on the Tapo app?
 

If the problem remains, please confirm the following information.
1. Send me(@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address via a private message.
 

2. Enable a hotspot Wi-Fi on your phone, factory reset the Tapo C210 V2, reconfigure it on a different phone, and connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi, then check if you can control it remotely.
