Model: Tapo C310
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.1

Hi

I have a few C310 cameras, the one started behaving wierdly, after about 8 months of no issues, it would start blinking orange and not be on the network. I will then power cycle and then it's fine again for 2 to 4 days, then disconnects again. It has full Wi-Fi, about 10m from a AP.

Anyone seen this?

  @Alpaka

This model's led indicator doesn't have a blinking orange state, it's probably 'blinking red slowing', which means 'connecting to wifi'.

Check the signal strength of the camera. Please improve device's network connection is the signal is weak. How to check and improve the network connection stability of Tapo smart devices

@Wayne-TP The camera is about 5 meters from a Deco M4, and the signal shows full strength. It has been in the same location for 11 months, so I don't understand why this issue started a few weeks ago. DNS is also set to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

<4>2025-02-07 19:17:54[tpssl][15.067]domain: security.iot.i.tplinknbu.com DNS failed, error_type: 1006.

 1006

1006 is a reserved value and MUST NOT be set as a status code in a
Close control frame by an endpoint. It is designated for use in
applications expecting a status code to indicate that the
connection was closed abnormally, e.g., without sending or
      receiving a Close control frame.

Can you share your network topology here? What network is the camera planned to be connected to?

This camera's IP is not in the IP range of the omada controller network.

What network device do you have? Please provide a simply drawing of your network topology, or describe it as clearly as possible.

Enable the diagnostics mode on your camera and export a log after the problem reoccurs. How to get the log of Tapo Camera
