Hello

Good Day

I want to know if they are going to update the FIRMWARE of the ARCHER AX 20 US V 2.0 L2TP/IPSEC in WAN connection but to discard this router and buy a competent one for my connection needs.

Any plan to add VPN client on AX10?  I don't see the reason for not having that on all TP-Links Wifi6 routers..

@Kevin_Z Purchased an AX11000, from an ASUS GT AX5300, expecting I was going into another high end router.  While trying to utilize the VPN on the AX11000 I was shocked to find the username was limited to 15 characters.  I asked TP-Link Tech Support what I could do and they told me to ask my VPN to give me a shorter username!  Most email addresses are over 15 characters.  Why would you have a 15 character limit on the user name field for a VPN login?  PureVPN, my username from 2 years ago has 16 characters, new accounts will have 17 or 18.  This is a basic field change for character allotment, and to place this minimal limit on what I expected to be a high end router is maddening.  My past 3 routers were all ASUS, and thought I would give TP-Link a try.  What a mistake.  Requested a change months ago and still nothing.  I have different periphials that dont allow for an App to run a VPN.  Cmon TP-Link, this is a "BASIC" request, just try 20 characters if nothing else!

@JohnRice Just downloaded the 5/17/22 Firmware for AX11000.  Nope, still a  1-15 character limit for your username field, guess there is no one home.  Such a basic request, unbelievable!

Hello @JohnRice

Can I know which VPN server are you trying to configure on the AX11000? Is it OpenVPN or PPTP?

We would confirm with the engineers if there is a limitation for the username and if there is a possibility to optimize.

@Kevin_Z  I guess the AX11000 should be added to this list as it supports OpenVPN and PPTP but not L2TP over IPSec.

Firmware Version:

1.3.0 Build 20220221 rel.50072(5553)

Hardware Version:

 Archer AX11000 v1.0 (actually v1.36 go figure)

Hello @saporitj, thanks for the suggestion.

Archer AX11000 does support L2TP over IPSec VPN with the provided beta firmware given in my original post, is it what you are asking for?
