Model: RE450
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20201203 Ref. 80349

I have set up successfully my RE450 extender but the password is different from the router. The router password is 16 digits long and the extender password to connect to is 64 digits long which is a real pain when trying to connect.

Hello   @mylot

May I know the model of your Wi-Fi router?  Sometimes WPS process may generate a very long random password on the extender.

You could try to reset the extender and reinstall it from Tether app or web page of TP-Link range extender, refer to this thread for more details.

Case 3:  Very long random Wi-Fi password on extender after WPS process

Feel free to let us know if this works for you
