I just saw an article on the internet, published Jan 31, 2024, about TP-Link Routers Vulnerability (CVE-2024-21833) for Archer and Deco Series. You can search for this article title to read it:  "Comprehensive Analysis of CVE-2024-21833 Vulnerability in TP-Link Routers : Threat Landscape, Exploitation Risks, and Mitigation Strategies".

 

I'm writing to find out if TP-Link has addressed this through a firmware update? I cannot find any information or acknowledgment from TP-Link on this. Please advise.

This is highly concerning and the fact there is no reply here makes me think there is no firmware patch either. Just about to buy an Archer, but will give it a miss now.

Also there are so many CVE's specific to TP-Link routers anyone would be it was intentional backdoors! What the hell is wrong with their developers?

  @BassMaster5 sloppy programming and no interest in correcting cve advisories, as far as I can tell.   just go to the cve site and see all the open vulnerabilities going bac years - it's not flattering and several firmware versions are listed.   Although there have been deliberate attacks on tp-link devices by China against european governments, so ???.
