Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.7.4 Build 20231222 Rel. 63684

Good day and thank you for your help.

I installed a Deco M5 AC1300 (3-pack) two days ago.

Main: Living room and is connected to the router into which our fiber plugs in. This is a TP-Link TL-WR845N. The Deco Main in connected to this router with the flat LAN cable that was in the box.

You will notice on the second picture below that there is an orange exclamation mark with the following message: "Abnormal WAN port speed. Please check your WAN port connection"

Question: What does this mean exactly and how do I solve it? I know I must check the port, which I have done. I have even tried other ports. Please advise on how to optimize this.

Study: On the second picture you will see it shows that this point it connected to main (living room) with WiFi. Problem: this is not true since it is connected with a cable. Question: How do I fix this that the point in the Study "knows" that it is connected with a cable and not wifi. You will see that the 3rd point, Main Bedroom, is connected with a cable plugged into the Study point (1st picture).

Please advise on how to fix this.

Thank you for your help.

  @deonholtz

The message "Abnormal WAN port speed" is caused by your usage of a low speed router.  The Deco is simply surprised that the router does not support an higher speed, and warns you about that unusual fact.
I suggest, to improve the performance, investigating the removal of that router, and directly connecting the Deco to your ISP box.

Do you mean that Study is connected by cable to the main Deco, but does not use that cable?

To test, I suggest moving Study close to the main Deco, and connect it via another cable.
You could as well swap "Study" an "Bedroom", to see if the problem follows the Deco or if the problem is specific to the location/cabling.

Thank you very much for your reply. I didn't know that I can plug the fibre directly into the Mesh. I thought I need the "old" touter to still do the DHCP. I take it from your reply that the "Main" M5 will then take over the DHCP functionality? I will do as you suggested about the "Study" point. Thanks again.

  @deonholtz If the Operation Mode of the Deco is "Router" (this is the default), the Deco will, indeed, handle the DHCP functionality.

If the old router was configured in a specific way to be compatible with your ISP, you can probably replicate that setup on the Deco
