Model: Deco BE63
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.0.6 Build 20240724 Rel 12326

My wired backhaul is no longer working for two of the three satelite units. This started happening right after the most recent firmware update. I have tried multiple reboots and physically powering off and powering on the devices in different orders, however, the two satelite units turn red when connected via the WIRED backhaul. When the Cat6 cable is disconnected and the units rebooted, they work fine in wireless mode. Prior to the firmware update, everything had been working fine for a few months since I purchased this unit on Amazon

My main Deco a BE65 unti and is named "basement"  It is set up as a router, connected to the Internet with a static IP address.  It functions fine.

I have an "outside" unit (Deco X50-Outdoor) that is connected via wired backhaul and it continues to work okay - even when connected via wired backhaul.

The other two units are "living room" and "kitchen" and these are the other two BE65 units.  These are the units that have stopped functioning after the most recent firmware update when connected via wired backhaul.  They will function when connected via wireless backhaul.

When connected via wired backhaul, I am using all new Cat6 cables.  All satellite units are physically connected to the "basement" unit - there are no routers or switches.  The wired backhaul was functioning as expected since July (when I installed the system) so I can only guess that the firmware update has caused this issue.

Is there any solution other than downgradeing the firmware?

Thank you.

  @dryh2o same issue on X20 firmware update that just came out. Absolutely ridiculous and infuriating.

  @tdover46 - As long as they identify the problem and get a fix out soon, I won't be too upset.  I've had a lot of luck with most TP-Link & Kasa products, but this is the third Deco system I've had and all of them have had varying issues - mostly minor.  This is the most expensive one I have had - I paid $500 on Amazon - and I was hoping higher price meant higher quality...

  @dryh2o

If you have not yet done so, please open a support ticket by following the instructions provided in the link below:

https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/694474

Once you have submitted a ticket and uploaded your log file, you can revert to an earlier, functioning version of the firmware by following these steps.

You can find available firmware versions at the following link:

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-be63/

Please ensure you select the correct hardware version, which is located on the underside of your Deco device.

Identify your current firmware version and download the previous version.

To perform the update, access the Deco web interface by entering "tplinkdeco.net" in your browser. Navigate to Advanced > System > Firmware Update, click on 'Browse,' select the firmware bin file, and then click on 'Upgrade.'

  @tdover46

Have you tried resetting the entire network? You can do this by clicking on the reset button on the bottom of each deco. You would have to restore all your networks and settings if you do this

If your decos have the auto firmware option you would want to turn that off once you ave everything back up and running

  @dryh2o I am having Ethernet port issues in general with 2 different sets from Costco. The whole system seems relatively fragile. A simple scheduled reboot caused Ethernet port issues for me. Now I am afraid to upgrade to this latest 1.0.6 version
