Model: RE450
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I am trying to setup my RE450. I tried using the tether app, I was able to find my router and enter the password. Screen stated router connected. When trying to find the device, all I get is the revolving search led which never finds the device. I could not move forward. That is all I could do. I then tried the ip 192.168.0.254 (This site can’t be reached), next I tried the website http://tplinkrepeater.net  (If you're connecting to the Router directly, you will be unable to access the Range Extender's management page by using http://tplinkrepeater.net.) So I finally used the WPS method and all lights are on and constant. My question is am I really connected and how do I get into the extender settings so I can validate data and update firmware?

@Probe47  Hello,

If all the lights are On on the range extender, that means RE connected to router successfully.

RE copies the SSID from router if you used WPS button so you could change a different SSID / wifi name for range extender and see phone and PC or cell phone could see RE's WiFi:

(via Tether app)How to change wireless settings of TP-Link wireless router on Tether APP
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2541/

Via tether APP you could see the wifi clients connected to RE and also update the firmware.

When firstly reset up the RE, cell phone need to be connected to Range extender's default SSID or Tether app could not find RE.
