Model: Deco W7200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20220530 Rel. 38666

Having some issues with my new W7200. My older Deco M5' were doing the same thing.

2 w7200 setup and 1 deco m5 in a 2000sq ft proximity.

Connection from cable modem -> w7200. My w7200 has one hard line to my local desktop. Everything else is wireless mesh.

I was hoping the purchase of a new model would stop the issues. But, my Deco's always go red throughout the day. Anywhere from 30sec to 2min or so. I look at my cable modems LED and they are solid.

Ive looked through logs and notices and errors. But, they dont tell me much.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a remedy for this? Id flash to DD-WRT but I dont think that is avaialble for this model.

Quite frustrating as its happened now wwith both models.

  @brokentpmesh,

This sounds like there may simply be an incorrect setting or configuration for your network that would be causing the disconnect.

But first, please make sure that your modem is able to receive the speeds that you pay for and is compatible with their technology. Simple mismatches such as Docsis 3.0v3.1 can cause intermittent disconnects like this.

What type of modem do you have and who is your ISP? If you have a modem that is capable of broadcasting a wireless signal, please make sure that the wireless and router functionalities are disabled.

Lastly, you can try to set up the Decos in AP mode, to see if this causes the intermittent disconnect issue.

  @brokentpmesh Same problem with one of my XE5300 decos.

Only thing different with it is its using a hard wired eithernet connection back to my main Deco.   Rebooting the unit doesn't help it.  I have to remove unit from network then do a hard reset of unit and add it back in.

  @nightshade68 @brokentpmesh,

So looking at our internal docs, we have seen a similar issue in the past for other devices; but none for the versions that you listed.

First Double Check that you're Deco is using the most up-to-date firmware as any fixes for similar situations have been patched through firmware updates.

Otherwise, what is your ISP and Plan? Some ISPs and modems can cause intermittent interruptions when they send unusual internet traffic from the modem.

Running 1.1.5 Build 20220429 Rel. 1970 firmware. Have FTTH 500/100 meg connection.   Speed test from hardwired computer connected to primary deco gives me consistent 540/130.

  @nightshade68,

Does the hardwired connection to the PC also drop when the issue occurs?

Another thing you may try to change is the Encrpytion Setting on Your network. I have seen, particularly with Smart Home Devices that they will intermittently disconnect from the network and not be able to reconnect when certain encryption methods are used.

Its just the one satellite unit that is hardwired. Primary deco and second satellite unit remain functional. Units worked perfectly for first month. Its been about a week or so between the two failures. Have had them for about 1.5 months now.

Docsis 3.1 modem. I have devices that are on wireless, and I also have a PC hard wired into the Deco. When the deco goes red, everything goes down. Deco is in router mode. Dropped again this AM. I can see in the log when it goes down. Why I cannot post this here doesnt make sense. Its all private IP space anyhow.
