Request ability for DecoXE75 to change 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz wifi channels in Deco app
@Riley_S I currently have the Deco XE75 router mesh network unit that supports 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz wifi networks and when I look at all the options in the Deco app, I do not see the ability to change the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz channels.
I know the Deco mesh routers have the "auto" feature to detect what wifi channels to use but in my experience so far, I do not see the wifi channels changing ever and I don't think the feature works at all. On 5 GHz wifi the router always sits on channel 48 and never moves which when I do a wifi analyzer of the networks around me, most of my neighbors use channels 36 to 48 which causes further congestion. I see in my area that channels 149 to 165 are uncongested and I would love the ability to configure my 5 GHz network on channels 149 oto 165.
I would love the ability in the Deco app to have a "Wifi channel" configuration option for all 3 frequencies (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz) to select a specific channel to avoid congestion.
I know the TP-Link Archer normal routers allow for configuration of the wifi channel for each frequency and I don't see the reason why that feature is omitted in the Deco products. I understand that the wifi mesh networks are suppose to be seamless and that feature can still exist with an "Auto" feature as the default option but also provide the ability for users to select specific wifi channels in case the neighbors around them all use the congested channel.
Deco team, please consider adding this feature for all Deco products and please don't think that this isn't a desired feature since I have seen many threads requesting for this sorely needed feature. Also competitors like Asus ZenWifi and Netgear Orbi mesh network products offer this wifi channel changing ability so TP-Link is behind in offering this feature.
I would really like some TP-Link personnel folks to comment on this.

@flai54 Looks like I'm going to be returning the Deco XE75 because it's picking channel 2 for the 2.4 GHz band, which overlaps at the end with my next door neighbor's channel 6. Channel 1 has no competition or overlap with anyone around, but without either better algorithms or the ability to manually change channels, my 2.4 GHz locked devices are occasionally dropping on and off the network.
From loving this product to now being 100% let down & having to start acquiring a new mesh router again, this was not the Friday night surprise I needed.
A soon former customer,
NJKnight

@Carl Switching channels breaks connectivity for some smart devices (Wyze cameras in particular). We need an IOT setting for 2.4ghz where the channel selection is locked.

That is actually being pushed and already available in some cases, for example the Deco XE200 has an IOT network when IOT devices are split from the main network but you can limit it to a single band.

@Carl Unfortunately my new wifi setup is 2 x XE75 Pro and 1 XE75. If I'm returning gear, it will all go back. I have a temporary workaround for the IOT issue - i'm using my old ASUS routers as APs strictly for my IOT devices. My hope is that the IOT feature will be added to the XE75 devices and i can get rid of the ASUS gear.
