Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.11

My router is suddenly not accepting incoming traffic from the Internet.

I can reach it via ping but not via traceroute (traceroute hangs at some hop associated with my ISP). I can also access the remote management port (i.e. :7080) for its IP address. However, none of the NAT ports I've manually opened up are routing traffic. All requests time out. Requests to the target addresses over my LAN do get routed correctly.

I'm certain it's not an issue with my ISP, given that some traffic makes it through. I don't have any security features enabled except for the SPI firewall, and disabling that did nothing. It was also working fine yesterday and I don't know what might have changed.

Is there any way to diagnose this issue further, or suggestions for what might be causing this? I can't find any useful information in the system log or traffic statistics.

Hi  @jp1198,

Welcome to the community!

A few quick questions to help our community better understand and help:

  1. Has the Internet LED on your Archer C7 changed (e.g., from green to amber/orange)?

  2. Have you tried bypassing the router and connecting to the Internet directly through the modem / Internet source device?

  3. Have you checked for any firmware updates and installed the latest version? (Instructions can be found here)

  4. Are you able to ping outside to the Internet via IP address and receive replies? (e.g., pinging Google's DNS server 8.8.8.8)?

  5. Are you able to ping domains and receive replies? (e.g., pinging www.google.com)

  6. Have you tried power cycling both the modem / Internet source device and the router?
