Just received my new Wi-Fi router yesterday, did the firmware update I believe and got everything setup and loaded. The problem I see is the speed as it is. Much lower then my previous Linksys router. From Cox modem my speed is around 500mbps, Pc on Ethernet cable to Wi-Fi router is around 93mbps and Wi-Fi to my iPad (non cellular) in next room is down to around 40mbps. Is this normal? I was well over 200mbps on my old Wi-Fi router, thought a new router would help this.

Hello@AzBob ,

Welcome to our community.

Can I know the model number of your device? Please refer to How to find the model number of your TP-Link device

If the speed is limited to 100 Mbps, please check the router WAN or LAN specification on the TP-Link official website. If they are 100Mbps ports, the actual internet speed will not be higher than 100Mbps.

Here are some tips that might improve the speed of your Archer Router:

    1) Try different Ethernet cables (CAT5E or above) on the Router.

    2) Disable QoS, go to Advanced >> QoS to disable it.

    3) Disable Parental Control, go to Advanced >> Parental Control to disable it.

    4) Disable SIP ALG and UPNP: go to Advanced >> NAT Forwarding >> UPNP to disable UPNP; go to Advanced>> Security to disable SIP ALG.
