Hi,

 

I recently acquired a used BE85 to add/enhance my current setup.  I had 3 BE63 but found signals were weaker in some areas with dead spots downstairs due to the thick walls.  I decided to add a BE85 for the stronger signals and installed it as my main Deco unit that comes from my cable modem.  After some time, i ended up setting up a new network but used the same name.  Coverage seems better but still testing.  I have noticed that my internet speed test fails at least 50% of the time and never had this issue with only my be63 only setup.  I did change y ethernet cable from my cable modem to CAT 6 as I noticed it was a CAT 5e - it didn't seem to help much but maybe a few less failures?  Any idea on what is happening and if my BE85 is bad (port)?  I am not using QoS and use 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 for my DNS.

 

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Hi, 
If the LED status on the main Deco does not change and the client devices connected to the Deco have a stable connection, the ports on the main Deco should be ok.
You can refer to the instructions below to test internet speed in the Deco app, and you can change the Test Server to see if that helps.

  @hmc94 What is the HW version # on the bottom of the BE85?  Also what is the firmware version # installed on it?  Wondering if you have the wrong firmware for HW version....
