I have been running a Deco mesh internet system for 5 years. We used the parental controls to set usage limits and bedtimes for our kids. A recent update just nullified all of those controls. When I went to set it up again, I realized why. Now they want money for us to use equipment we purchased the same way we have been using the equipment for 5 years. Something that was free has become a subscription service, which means we no longer own our purchased equipment - it's use has been changed without our permission or knowledge. The term for this is enshittification, and we will no longer purchase these products from this company. To the waste bin they will go.

Hi,
Generally, features available on parental control before the upgrade will also be available for free after the upgrade. In your case, please provide more detailed information so we can better assist you.

  1. What's the model number, firmware, and hardware version of your Deco? You can refer to the instructions below to find the Deco's model and hardware version on the bottom label. Then, please go to the Deco app > More > System > Update Deco to view the firmware info.

  2. What features do you want to use under parental control but need to subscribe to?

Best Regards
