App can't connect to H200 hub
App can't connect to H200 hub
Just purchased a c420s2 camera package. The Tapo app is unable to connect to the H200 hub. The hub is connected by ethernet and has a solid amber light. The Tapo app tries to connect to the hub, but fails. the message is "Unable to connect to your Tapo Device." Any ideas on what to try?

Hello, thank you for the feedback. Please ensure your phone connects to the same network as the hub during the configuration. Disable VPN if any.
If there is any Isolated network (e.g. guest network, access point network separated by VLAN tag), double-check if the hub and the phone are under the same network.

Most of your suggestions don't apply to the H200 hub as it is not wifi, but is wired ethernet only. However, I did try using a tablet instead of my phone, and the setup did complete. But, now the Tapo app on my phone shows the H200 hub and the 2 c420 cameras as installed, but offline and I can't view or change settings on the cameras. None of it is actually offline, as I can reopen the Tapo app on my tablet and everything is normal and I can view the cameras and hub. Why would my phone app show the hub and cameras as offline? Is there something different in the android tablet Tapo app and the android phone Tapo app? Also, the Tapo phone app is showing motion detection and sending notifications to my phone while saying everything is offline. The bad part of this is if I get a motion detection notice on my phone, I can't view the motion on my phone because the cameras are greyed out showing offline. The motion detection is being recorded, because I can view on my tablet, but not phone. Should I delete the Tapo app from my tablet? Are the tablet Tapo app and phone Tapo app working against each other somehow?

Hello @randerson0248
Glad to know you were able to set them up successfully at last.
It doesn't sound right if the Hub or camera are offline in the app, but you can still receive notifications.
To help look into this, can you provide a video shared link of the app behavior? We'd create a support email TKID230314933 for your case, please check if receive the email ,thank you!

@Solla-topee I am having the same problems as others, just bought C420S2 and phone app will not connect to HUB H200. Received error "UNABLE TO CONNECT TO TAPO DEVICE" Hub is connected to router and has a solid amber light. Did the factory reset with a pin, but it did not help.

Hi,
The error message displayed means that the Tapo H200 and the phone may not be on the same network. And below are the suggestions.
1. Please ensure your phone connects to the router's main Wi-Fi rather than the guest Wi-Fi or using 4G mobile data during the configuration.
2. Disable VPN on the phone if there are any.
3. Please confirm the router has disabled the device isolation feature.
4. Try to set up the hub with a different phone.
Best Regards

@Solla-topee I recently have the same problem and I did all the suggestion. The customer service I called suggested that the device is faulty. How can I get a replacement?

Just wondering if you resolved this or if your H200 was faulty.? I have the same issue.
H200 and 2 x cameras working fine for 1 week. All of sudden the cameras showed as not connected on the app however im still getting alerts on my phone. I disconnected the cameras and factory reset the h200. No joy. Now i have nothing on my phone. I have other TAPO devices on my app and they are all still working as expected.
Any input is welcome.
Thanks
Anthony

Hi,
Thank you for the case sharing, generally, updating the Tapo app won't affect the status and usage of the Tapo devices.
In this case, you can keep monitoring the new Tapo app and check if your devices and the Tapo app will work fine.
Best Regards
