Why can't you access the camera's live feed on the Google Home App?
The Public Preview in Google Home offers currently in-development features for users who opt into the program.
The features added through this program will often have limited compatibility, require further updates before they are officially supported, or may break due to changes in the feature's implementation during development.

The "Access live streams for Works with Google cameras" feature is under the Public Preview program. It's still under development by Google and is not available for all cameras and brands.
Our teams are aware that the feature is currently not available for Tapo Cameras and are in close communication with Google regarding future compatibility.
We appreciate your patience as we await future updates from Google.

@jimmy19 That's exactly what's so frustrating: it doesn't work in the Home app, but it does work from the widget as @MrAdventure2001 said

April 2026. Late to the game. I have been evaluating the C460 three camera kit. The last few days I tried google home integration. I can link google home to the tapo account. When asking "ok google, show tapodriveway on chromecast" I hear a beep and "not available." When asking "ok google, show tapodriveway on googletv", one camera feed comes through but it says "showing to cameras." The remote on GoogleTv does nothing. Chromecast is connected to a SamsungTV and GoogleTV is connected to a SonyTV.
I launched SmartThings on my samsung phone and added tapo cameras. I can preview the cameras on the phone! But not what I wanted. I launched SmartThings on my SamsungTV and presto, I can see two cameras (haven't installed the 3rd one yet). I can toggle which screen is bigger, but no sound (mic and speaker are lined out).
Disappointed in Google / Tapo integration. BTW, I asked Google Home why this isn't working and I heard and recorded a long speech about how both companies think the other is the problem and that the lack of a functioning integration is well known. And yet, I opened a ticket with Tapo support earlier today and they said it should work. They want screen shots etc. of versions to work the problem. I am feeling a bit used - if support doesn't know it won't work, that's a probem - if support know it won't work, my time is being wasted.
