This Article Applies to:

All Tapo cameras

Phenomenon Description:

On the Tapo app > camera's Live View > Playback & Download > Playback > SD card page, you can see detection video clips stored on the SD card from the timeline, however, no thumbnails of detected events are displayed under the timeline.

Below are comparison images with and without thumbnails.

Troubleshooting tips:

1. Check the camera's model number and hardware version on its Device Settings > Device Info page.
Since the Tapo C100 V1&V2, Tapo C200 V1&V2, TC60 V1&V2, and TC70 V1&V2 do not support the feature of displaying thumbnails of detected events on the Playback > SD card page, you will not see thumbnails when using these camera models.

Note: there is no plan to add this feature to these camera models in the future.

2. If you have other camera models but encounter this issue, please try the following steps.
  1) Make sure the Tapo app is up to date.
  2) Try to format the SD card via the Tapo app and check if it helps. If there are important video clips stored on the SD card, please backup them before formatting the SD card.
  3) Try a different SD card if you have one.

3. If the problem remains, please reply to this thread with the following information for further analysis.

  1) List the troubleshooting you did and the results.

  2) Confirm your camera's model number, firmware & hardware version.

  3) Check the model number and capacity of the inserted SD card.

  @MJR123

Hi,
1. SanDisk is the brand name rather than the model number of the SD card. Please double-check the SD's model number, or you can send me its purchase link.

2. Please send us a picture in your Tapo app showing the reported phenomenon.

3. You can try a different SD card if you have one.

4. On the Tapo app > camera's Live View > Playback & Download > Playback > SD card page, are you able to watch the video recordings stored on the SD card?

Best Regards
