Future Consideration Possibility to change WiFi channels
There should be a way to change WiFi channel, or at least the system should change it by itself, choosing the least saturated one. For 2.4GHz it is clear that it will be almost impossible to select a free channel, but on the 5GHz I only see other 2 networks and we are all in the same channel! For at least one the reason may be that our neighboor is using a TP-Link product as well.
I think this is a very basic configuration in any WiFi device, which I would have never though was not going to be possible before buying it.

One year later and I am quite dissapointed for the almost lack of firmwre updates of these devices. This channel selection is starting to become an issue, even if I live in a non-dense area. My neighbour has another set of TP-Links devices and we both are using the same channels for both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz, which is crazy! The rest of the 5GHz channels, even in the 34-64 band are empty!

Hi, the 5GHz of Deco supports band 1, which includes channel 36-48. You can turn off the 2.4GHz first and connect the device to the 5GHz and then disable the mesh technology. Then the Deco won't suggest the client to roam between different Decos/Bands.
And this feature has been forwarded to our product department, and there is a plan to optimize the wireless channel mechanism. The ETA is unsure but we will keep pushing them.
Any updates, we will let you know.
Good day.

Is there any update on this matter. I have 6 neighbors around me and of those 6, four of us are on the same channel. I've tried rebooting tp-link mesh devices but they all seem to land on the same channel every time. I used a wifi analyzer and it shows a whole range of open channels that can easily be used.

Good morning, I have the same limitation with my Deco M9 mesh network. It's really disappointing the impossibility to change radio channels.
I hope Support Dept. will release a new App version including this feature, that is becoming essential
Thank you

Do you mean Deco (in may case Deco M9 V1.0) does NOT support other bands for HW limitations?
We all hope limitations are only SW.
In this case, could you release new firmware for devices and a new app to manage channel changes for 2.4 and 5 GHz?
Thank in advance you for your reply

@Kevin_Z we need the ability to select the channels not just the band. Nearby wifi networks on the same band both on 2.4ghz ot 5Ghz will conflict and downgrade service, it can't be a hardware restriction surely. A software update should be relatively easy! Please help us!
