I have been driven nuts by your utilty app  on Android.  It tells me on my phone that there is no device found. Yet I'm connected wirelessly to the device!!!!  I've tried going to tplinkplc.net and tplinkwifi.net  yet neither loads. They tell me I have to connect wirelessly. But I am connected wirelessly.

I've tried using the utility on my pc that is connected through a powerline adapter by ethernet cable.  It shows the three devices, but I have zero idea how I'm supposed to change the name of the wifi extender.  I want to change the wifi name of it. But the utility just won't work.

No, I have no idea what hardware version or firmware version they are. I presume they are the original becuase I have no idea how to update them.

I have to say that I'm reasonably tech savvy. But all of the info in the TPLink manuals is virtually unintelligible.  Even if they were intelligible they require me to log in, whihc I certainlycan't do on my android phone utility ap.

@PleaseHelpMM  Hello,

tpPLC APP only supports WPA4220 V2 and above hardware version. May I know the hardware version of your WPA4220 on its back label?

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/46/

Here is a guide for 'How to customize wireless settings on tpPLC Utility (new logo)?'
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1611/

If you have WPA4220 V1 , here is beta tpPLC Utility for Windows and please let us know if this Beta works for you

@Solla-topee

Hi, thanks for your answer.  I have two sets of TP Link powerline extenders.  One is version 1 and one is version 2.  The one going into my PC is version 2 and  the wifi one that I need to edit is version 1.  The utility is working on my computer (which is connected by ethernet through the version 2 plug).  The one with the Wifi on it, which is what I need to edit, is version one.

The utility is working on my computer and it shows three plugs, which is correct.  One with the router, one to my computer's ethernet, and one in the lounge with wifi on it so that we can use wifi at that end of the house.

I need to change the password on that Wifi V1 plug in the lounge. I've previously changed the password on it. I didn't use the Tpp app when I did that because at that stage I didn't know it existed.

According to my notes I went to 192.168.1.134 (FYI I've also tried http://192.168.1.134 as well. Both go to a page that says it can't be accessed.  I've tried both on my PC attached to tthe tp-link powerline ethernet connection and also on my phone connected through the Wifi. Neither works).

So, I need to a:  change the password on the wifi V1 tp-link plug and b: preferably change the name on that as well.    I have done this in the past as that wifi connection is currently a name I gave it and the password I gave it, not the original.

Please let me know what I need to do to change the password and the name of the wifi extension. I have done this before, so it can be done.

Thanks.

@PleaseHelpMM  Hello,

1. For WPA4220 V1, please connect to extender's WiFi, and try "  http://tplinkplclogin.net  ' to login its Web management page  and customize SSID from Wireless settings.

'192.168.1.134' is it the IP address for WPA4220 V1?

2. Please also try the Beta Utlity I provided above and change the SSID from tpPLC U as guide below:
