Hi All and @JoaoRamos

Good news!  The beta firmware 1.1.0 for Deco X50 V1 is ready which has added similar features as  1.6.0 versions on Deco M5/M9 plus(1.1.0 version on Deco X55/M4-v4).

Please find the download link below:

Deco X50- V1-1.1.0

Note: Be sure you have read Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding!

More details about New Features/Enhancement:
1. Added Reboot Schedule for every day/week under Deco App > More > Reboot Schedule.
2. Added support for customizing Satellite Deco Signal Source under Deco App > Internet > Select the Satellite Deco > Signal Source.

Notes:

2. Please update your Deco APP to the latest version for the new features.
3. If there are non-1.6.0/1.1.0 models in the Mesh network, you may miss some new features but this feature will be supported via firmware update in the future.
4. You may miss some new features when Deco is set to Access Point mode.

As usual, the 1.6.0/1.1.0 firmware version is a leap forward and any feedback after the firmware upgrade will be highly valued. If you have any confusion about the firmware upgrade, please feel free to comment below.

  @David-TP

It would be good for the community to know what the devices are expected do receive the beta update.

On my case I have a deco x50 mesh kit that is basically a deco x55 but with the top on white, can you share if it is expected that the x50 will receive this beta firmware and the ETA to recieve it?

I would like to know about the X20 firmware update? the 2.4 GHz is broken.

I am aware of the guest network workaround, but this unit (under a month old for me) is not working as advertised.

Also will customising the satellite Deco signal source be included?

Thank You

  @Treb61

Hi, it is planned to release the same firmware for Deco X20 as well. Can I have more details about what you meant by "the 2.4 GHz is broken"?

And so far, were you having any issues when the satellite Deco is not connecting to the nearest Deco, not to the main Deco?

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Thanks for getting back David.

I was having problems connecting any 2.4GHz device, although I was able to connect my solar inverter (2.4 GHz only) using the Guest Network method.

Other items, such as printer, ring doorbell chime, and daughter TV didn't connect. ( Ring Chime is now bricked)

Also, some items would connect to the furtherest node instead of the closest and there wasn't a way to configue this.

I am reasonably technical minded and wasted a lot of time on what should have been a simple setup process.

I today returned the x20 and received a full refund.

My system was back up and running within minutes with the only slight problem being a weaker WiFi signal at the extremities of my house.

Being an electrician I have already run a cat6 cable to the problem areas, I should have done this instead of wasting my time on a product that seemed to me to stil be in beta test mode.

Regards,

Treb.

A major feature of the firmware is the ability to select a preferred signal source on the DECO app. According to a DECO application note, last updated 20 Oct. 2022, this feature will be implemented on the following models:

Deco W3600 , Deco X20 , Deco X50-DSL , Deco M1300 , Deco X68 , Deco HC4 , Deco X25 , Deco Voice X50 , Deco E4R , Deco X58-4G , Deco E4S , Deco X5700 , Deco X4300 Pro , Deco W6000 , Deco XE5300 , Deco M5 , Deco M4 , Deco X3600 , Deco HX20 , Deco XE75 , Deco M3 , Deco X75 , Deco X50-4G , Deco BE85 , Deco X50-PoE , Deco X50-Outdoor , Deco Voice X20 , Deco X73-DSL , Deco W7200 , Deco X50-5G , Deco X5400 Pro , Deco P9 , Deco X80 , Deco P7 , Deco X20-DSL , Deco 5G , Deco M5 Plus , Deco X20-4G , Deco PX50 , Deco BE95 , Deco S7 , Deco X76 Plus , Deco S4 , Deco X90 , Deco W2400 , Deco X95 , Deco X50 , Deco X96 , Deco X55 , Deco E4 , Deco E3 , Deco BE65 , Deco XE75 Pro , Deco XE200 , Deco X80-5G , Deco X55 Plus , Deco M9 Plus , Deco AC1200 , Deco M3W , Deco X60

It should be coming real soon now, but that tune has been playing for years in some cases. TP-Link obviously prioritize fancy design, marketing and developing a bewildering number of new products rather than living up to the promises of the products they have already brought to market.
