Enabling Backhual Steering allows the satellite devices to flexibly connect to different mesh nodes based on their load status, optimizing your EasyMesh network performance.
Preferred WiFi Uplink AP: by default, it is set to Auto, when there are more than two mesh nodes in the same EasyMesh network and wireless backhaul is used, you could select a preferred AP for the satellite device, the preferred AP can be either the main router or another satellite device.

@Sunshine Hi, I have been using two AX55 with the beta firmware.
Got 3 floors at home, main one on top floor, other on bottom as satellite using Ethernet backhaul.
Testing since day 1, only the basic usability.
The routers seem fine most of the time with consistent wifi/ethernet speed and noticed no issues in wireless VR (Quest 3 wifi 6, around 100mbps bitrate) and Youtube 1080@60 on mobile, which I am using as a benchmark.
When working properly, latency is very good, with no real difference compared to my setup before (2nd router in regular AP mode with ethernet input), latency on the satellite router seems the same as the main one.
There are some issues though.
Sometimes Youtube starts stuttering for no real reason (in any of the floors with 3/4 out of 5 bar connection), and VR as well, but that could be other factors as well. The stuttering did not happen with the previous setup
Also, I only noticed on the VR headset, but when going to the top to bottom floor, it stayed connected to the top floor router, even near the bottom one, only changing after turning wifi off and on.
Hopefully these kinks can get sorted out, the stutters are very annoying when they start happening.
Thanks a lot for your work :)

It would be really great if the function of reboot could be added to the management GUI for the mesh devices.
It would prevent from rubbing on the house to go reset all router and repeater when something is not working.

Hi, do you mean the software reboot function on the main router? You would like to reboot all mesh devices on the main router or add reboot feature on both main router and satellite router web interface to allow them rebooting itself?

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.
1. Regarding the Youtube and VR stuttering issue, it only happens on the two devices: VR and mobile, right? How about streaming Youtube on other wireless and wired client devices?
You could also try changing wireless channel and channel width for the WiFi, and also check if you are connected to 2.4G or 5G WiFi.
2. Regarding the roaming issue of VR headset, does your mobile have the same issue?
Actually the mesh network could only suggest the client to roam but cannot force it to roam, it is still the client device that decide to roam or not.

Both are valid options:
1) reboot through the mesh interface of main rooter (currently available for firmware update on AX55)
2) GUI management system on IP address of satellite router (currently only available on routers in normal mode, not as mesh satellite where there is only option to see network and do firmware update and som log function)

@Sunshine Now that "5G" has been mentioned, can we make a case to replace any references to "5G" with "5 GHz" in the router's software?
The clients list is probably the worst offender.
5G (fifth generation cellular data) and 5 GHz Wi-Fi are VERY different things and being a reputable tech company, it would be nice not to contribute to this massively extended confusion.
