Hi, actually the backhaul WiFi will not be disabled when you disable main WiFi on the routers, as the backhaul WiFi is only used for establishing mesh network.
We have run the same tests on our end for many times and cannot reproduce the issue, so may I know your detailed network topology?
ISP modem--Main AX55---Satellite AX55, or ISP modem--Main AX55--Switch--Satellite AX55 are both not working for Ethernet Backhaul? And is there any other network devices in the network?

Thanks, once I finally got the wired icon with the direct connection I was able to troubleshoot from there. The issue was in a D-Link switch between the main router and the satellite router. All up and running smooth now! Now with the good switch my network speed on that network back up to 110%. Thanks!

Did you have to remove the switch to get it to work, or was it a config change?

Does that mean that in order to have a ethernet backhaul for satellite device, we will have to directly connect it with the main router? based on the issue from @shakeyhome

I replaced the switch with a different brand and everything immediately worked as it is supposed to.
The original was D-Link. I had a Netgear switch available so I used that one.

No, but some switches aren't compatible with the Ethernet backhaul, the exact protocol or something. I read somewhere TP-Links work, I had a Netgear handy so I tried it and it worked. That's not to say every one from that brand would work. But the one I had handy did. It's just something to look for if you're having issues.

Awesome, thanks for letting me know.
Edit: Spotted your response about switches having issues with backhaul, I had issues with Deco's on my Netgear, so it seems a bit hit and miss.
