Model: Tapo C420S1
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.23

At present the wireless cameras and hub need to be in close proximity if you want a stable connection as the cameras link directly to the hub and not to the Hub via the wireless network.

If the hub is connected to a local network via an ethernet cable (or even Wifi) then surely the cameras can connect to the Hub via the wifi network rather than need to be in close proximity to the hub.  This would allow for the hub to be stored in a secure central location and give the cameras better placement options such as front gates, perimeter fences etc all connecting to the hub/s via wifi using outdoor antennas or range extenders.

It would be beneficial have my TP-Link Deco Mesh wifi network and be able to connect my TP-Link Tapo cameras to the hub via this network.

  @MeenaMos

Hi,
The Tapo cameras, such as Tapo C420 and Tapo C400, connect to the hub H200 via a Sub-GHz network rather than a 2.4/5G Wi-Fi network, they don't support the 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi network and can't connect to the router's Wi-Fi directly.

We have other cameras that can connect to the Wi-Fi directly, and you can check if they are suited for your usage scenario, such as the Tapo C310, Tapo C320WS, etc.

If you want a battery camera that can connect to the 2.4/5G Wi-Fi directly, you can check if the Tapo C425 is available in your region.

Best Regards
