Is this normal? It seems counterproductive to have to keep the doorbell charged to 50% or above to use the motion detection features. Pressing the doorbell still sounds the charm etc, but motion detection has cut out at exactly 50% on all charges I have done since getting the device, and resumes after charging back up

Hi,
Usually, you can refer to the below instructions to troubleshoot if the detection feature on the camera is not working.
Detection Is Not Working On TP-Link Camera

For the Tapo D230, usually, the motion detection feature will work when the battery is below 50%. If the detection feature is not working, please help confirm the following information.
1. Go to the camera's Device Settings>Battery Status>Power Saving Mode, have you turned off this mode?
2. Send me the pictures of the Detection page, Wake-up Settings page, and the enabled detection types pages.
3. Can you share a video showing there are events in front of the camera, but the camera does not detect them?

Best Regards
