Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.9

Hi, this complaint is all over the place in this community but a fix never comes for Video Quality.

For example on Tapo C225 there is a specific Menu where we can select the Quality that we want by default, but on Tapo C200 this option is not available inside the App (Android latest version).

We want on Tapo C200 a Menu option so that We can select HQ or LQ by default. Right now even if we select HQ, it will revert to LQ always.

Please make a Menu option for this or kepp HQ the default value, not LQ to have High quality of video visualization instead Low Quality video visualization by default.

Hi, 
For the Tapo C200 V1, to ensure a smooth Live View in a somehow low bandwidth environment when viewing the camera remotely, we set the video resolution to LQ (360P) by default. You may switch to HQ (1080P) manually on the Live View page if you have a high bandwidth certainly.
If you view the camera locally, that is your phone and the camera is connected to the same Wi-Fi, it will default to HQ streaming quality.
For remote live view, as long as you don't close the app, it will be the same option you quit last time (kill the app and open it again, and it will become LQ). If you need to have the HQ live view all the time, please lock the APP to keep it running in the background.

  @Solla-topee Hi, this is not a valid answer, even so keep the App always running in the backgrung and burn the phone battery.

 

Has I said on Tapo C225 there is a Menu option where we can choose the default video quality. Why this option is missing on Tapo C200?

Just push this feature from C225 to C200, is that so hard?

Currently, there is no plan to apply this feature to the Tapo C200 V1. However, I'll keep logging the same feature request and forward it to the relevant team for evaluation.
