Hello, 

 

I have two TC82 kits installed for a few months.  Had no issues with them at all until recently where one of the cameras randomly disappears from the app.  I then have to reset and add the camera all over again. 

 

This is extremely inconvenient and renders the camera useless.  I was away from home when it first happened so I had no access to the camera and I had no idea why. All I know is that it randomly disappeared from the app. 

 

I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it.  My account is secure with 2FA.  I'm not sure why this is happening but the camera in it's current functionality is really poor value.  I've only had it for a few months. 

 

Can you please advise me on what's going on? I'm beginning to suspect it may be a hardware issue with the camera because it's difficult to imagine Tapo software being at fault in this instance.

Hi,
It's recommended to test if the camera is online when your phone connects to the same Wi-Fi as the camera and then disappears from the Tapo app when your phone connects to another Wi-Fi network or uses mobile data. If so, the camera may not have been configured successfully. It's not bound to your TP-Link account, so you can only see it in the local network.

 

Please confirm the following information for the reported issue.
  1. Send me(@Solla-topee) the camera's MAC address via a private message.

  2. What's the LED status on the camera? Especially when the camera disappears from the Tapo app.
