Model: Tapo C211
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.3

Hi Team,

I'm observing a behavior when I see the recordings in the Tapo app I can see multiple recordings for a given day but when I plug the SD card in the PC and see the storage, I see only 2-3 recordings for that given date. I can see there are multiple files with "xxxxxxxx_000" format which means waiting to be written to the storage. This is not only for recent date, but for all the dates even weeks old, I see only one recording in the SD Card

To simplify,

View in Tapo :
Date 1 : Recording1, Recording2, Recording3, Recording4. ......
Date 2 : Recording1, Recording2, Recording3, Recording4. ......
Date 3 : Recording1, Recording2, Recording3, Recording4. ......
Date 4 : Recording1, Recording2, Recording3, Recording4. ......

View in PC (with SD card)
Date 1 : 20250709_xxxxxx_tp00000.mp4
Date 2 : 20250710_xxxxxx_tp00001.mp4
Date 3 : 20250710_xxxxxx_tp00002.mp4
Date 4 : 20250710_xxxxxxx_tp00003.mp4
Date 5 : 20250711_xxxxxxx_tp00006.mp4

Followed by many files in this format
xxxxxxxx_000000_tp00033

It looks like the Tapo is not able to convert the recording to the given format. Is there a bug which is not letting it do so? For mitigation, is there a way I can force the recording to be converted to given format in the SD card?

SD Card : SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSDXC

Regards,
Tapo Customer

  @CCTV_IN

Hi,
Typically, the SD card will be divided into multiple files automatically once formatted in the Tapo App, and all of the files will be named xxxxxxxx_000000_tp00001.mp4, xxxxxxxx_000000_tp00002.mp4, and so on. Then, the recorded videos will fill in these files one by one.

The format and capacity of these files are fixed, and a file may include several detection video clips. Therefore, you may see that the number of files for a given date is less than the number of video clips shown in the Tapo app.

Best Regards
