When the smartphone got kicked out from Wi-Fi after a couple of seconds, does it still show connected to the network, and it still displayed online on the router web interface "wireless client" list? Does this issue happen on all wireless devices? How about wired connection, what if you connect a computer to the MR6400 with an Ethernet cable, will the connection stable?

We have reported the issue to the support engineers, they will likely reach out to you via email to continue to troubleshoot your issue.

@Kevin_Z

thanks for the answer, and the ticket. about your requests:

  • When the smartphone got kicked out from Wi-Fi after a couple of seconds, does it still show connected to the network, and it still displayed online on the router web interface "wireless client" list?
    • It's difficult to tell you precisely, i would say it's not shown. sometimes it appears and then it disappear, definitely not a stable situation.
  • Does this issue happen on all wireless devices?
    • Wireless network is unavailable to all devices i normally use
  • How about wired connection, what if you connect a computer to the MR6400 with an Ethernet cable, will the connection stable?
    • I tried ethernet connection with a laptop and it's much stabler, while wifi was unavailable / unstable. unfortunately the usually connected devices have no ethernet port

I also noticed that when those issues happens:

  • wifi network sometimes disappear from wifi analyzer software. when it's shown it has a good signal (~ -35 dBm)
  • if i get connection from my smartphone to the router, the connection is awfully slow. sometimes i cannot even connect to the control panel at 192.168.1.1 even if i'm "connected" to the wifi
  • I can reach the router from WAN using the Tether App
  • it looks like the radio network goes into this KO situation after 2-4 days, and i have to wait until the next restart for this to solve (or manually restart)
  • i did not notice any wireless channel change, it was on channel 10
  • LTE band was fixed to B7
  • LTE signal usually stays at 25% but today briefly dropped to 0% with RSRP -112dBM RSRQ -17 dB and SNR -3.8 dB. Anyway while i can undestand that internet connection is not available when signal is poor, LAN wifi stability should suffer no impact from LTE signal quality. Please note that even when LTE signal goes back to 25% wifi is still very unstable as described.

@Kevin_Z

Hi,

Is it possible to receive firmware for MR400 V4 to enable manual band lock?

I`m experiencing a big reduction in bandwidth speed when the band changes from 3 to 8.

Archer MR400 v4 00000001

1.3.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 201202 Rel.74361n

Regards

Martin

@Kevin_Z

As others have pointed out, a firmware update for MR400 v4 is really needed. Why is the beta firmware still only for v2 and v3? My experience regarding this 4G router has been extremely sub-par, and I'll be forced to buy another router if manual band selection won't be added.

@Kevin_Z

I just bought a new Archer MR600 v2 EU. Firmware Version:‪1.2.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 201203 Rel.59032n. I'm not sure whether I can aggregate two bands.

I also noticed that the ISP information is outdated (E-Plus name is outdated) so I created a manual APN profile (O2). I wasn't able to find an update link for ISP Upgrade either.

Eventually, I did select two bands manually (in Advanced --> Network --> Internet) but the bands won't aggregate always.

If I select all available bands or the two bands correspondent to my profile (O2), then the router will randomly jump between 7 or 20. Sometimes it's both 7,20.

Does it mean the bands are aggregated in this screenshot?

Since I have the hardware version V2, I'm not sure if flashing the router with V1 firmware is a good idea. It might render the router unusable.

@NetNerds

Hi, I have seen the reply from another post that it is due to the frequency external LPDA does not match with the JIO network 4G+ CA:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/255824

PS: there is a new firmware that supports band selection on the TL-MR100.

And please remember to update the firmware to be the latest official firmware:

TL-MR100(EU)_V1_210119

https://static.tp-link.com/2021/202103/20210315/TL-MR100(EU)_V1_210119.zip

Thank you very much.

Just wanted to share that installing this firmware solved the problem for me of the internet constantly dropping every 10 minutes or so!
I should mention, I live in a fairly rural location in Lincolnshire, UK, where the signal can be patchy.

I was close to throwing my archer mr600 V1 out of the window and ordering a Hauwei, but here's what I did:

I installed the beta firmware as advised and selected each individual band that my provider EE uses. I picked just one band at a time and selected band B as, "None".
After this, I did a speed test on each band. It actually turned out that when I selected ANY other band other than band 3, the internet would disappear. In fact, the signal strength symbols on the router would vanish along with the globe/planet symbol. So, by doing this I established that I can only receive LTE band 3 where I'm living.

I'm assuming that when the router decided to switch bands to boost the signal, this is when the dropouts happened? Either way, it now seems fixed and I can enjoy not having to annoyingly reset my router every 10 minutes!
