C225 firmware downgrade / notification issues
Hi,
Simple question : is it possible to downgrade firmware to previous version ?
Current 1.0.20 is unusable. Bugged notifications, bugged timeline playback, even line crossing doesn't work properly and triggers with events outside of boundaries.
Previous version worked way better. I rather have working camera than ability to record in 25fps.
Thanks
Red

Hi,
We have no method to downgrade the firmware of the Tapo C225. In your case, it's suggested to troubleshoot on the latest firmware, and since you have contacted the tech team, I'll inform them to reply to you soon.

Thank you for your replay.
I just got a message with specific instructions from a technician and will be preparing full report as soon as I can.
I will post the end findings for others to see in case this isn't general problem with the firmware and happens only to select few ( or just me ).

@Solla-topee @MickyAndRed hello, just to let you know that I have the same camera (C225) and same new firmware version, and it's completely bugged.
Notifications don't work at all anymore.
In essence the newest firmware made the camera useless...

@jgb1984 Absolutely. The only reason I choose this model was for it's AI and ability to select what type of notifications I get - very helpful in my case. Without that it's useless like you said.
I am in contact with support. We will see if they can pinpoint the problem.

Hi,
About the notification issue, please help confirm the following information for further analysis.
1. On the Camera Settings page of the Tapo C225, go to the Detection & Alerts>Activity Notifications page, send me a picture of this page, and then click on Activity Type and send me a picture of this page.
2. What detection have you enabled? Such as Motion, Person, Vehicle, etc.
3. If your configuration is correct but can't receive notifications, please refer to the link below to troubleshoot.
Why can’t I receive notifications after turning on Notifications?
4. On the Tapo app>Home>tap the Message icon at the top right corner, can you see any notifications for your C225?
5. Is the camera connected to an NVR? If yes, disconnect it from NVR for a try.

Hello,
my settings are the correct ones, it always worked fine before the latest firmware upgrade.
I've tried to experiment with different combinations of settings, but there's no way to bring back the notifications.
Also on the Android OS level everything is set up fine, all notifications are allowed and I do not use do not disturb mode.
The notifications are also not present inside the Tapo app itself.
I also own a Tapo C200 camera for which the notifications work fine.
1) see screenshots below
2) see screenshots below (I tried different combinations of detection, nothing helps)
3) followed the link, didn't help
4) There are no notifications for C225 in the tapo app
5) not connected to an NVR, but I do have RTSP enabled ("device account"). I don't know how I can disable this? All I can do is change the username of the account, but I cannot seem to disable the functionality.

Thank you @Solla-topee for your help in speeding up the whole process.
Looks like devs/engineers were able to identify the issue and deploy fix - my device have received beta version and it seems everything is working as intended. I tested the fix from every possible angle.
I'll give it 24hr before sending confirmation but so far so good.
Thanks again
