Hello,

Is it possible to record with a Tapo C320WS to a Tapo H200 hub?

I want to record outside, but store the video inside the house and i don't want to deal with battery charging.

Do you have any experience in it or any solution?

Best regards,

Thanks

  @k_tibi

Hi,
Since the Tapo C320WS can connect to the Wi-Fi or ethernet cable to go to the internet directly rather than needing to connect to the hub h200, and it has an SD card slot to insert an SD card, it's unable to store video recordings to the SD card inserted into the hub.

For your usage scenario, you can try to stream the camera on a PC/NVR/NAS via RTSP/ONVIF protocol and store the video recordings on the PC/NVR/NAS inside the house.
How to view Tapo camera on PC through RTSP stream?
How can I connect my Tapo camera to a NAS or NVR?

Best Regards

  @Solla-topee The battery cameras can record to a hub so why not the wired cameras? Seems like a strange omission to me. Recording to the hub is far better for security and maintenance than an SD card inserted into the camera?

I'm essentially forced to choose between hub storage and having to swap the batteries every so often (outdoor cameras are often mounted high up so that's a pain).

Or I can have a wired camera, so I don't have to swap batteries, but can only record to an SD card locally in the camera? That would sort of make sense for a 1 camera setup, but if I have multiple cameras and have a hub why can I not use it?

  @David_K

Hi,
Since the battery cameras must be connected to the hub Tapo H200 to work but wired cameras work independently without being connected to the hub, currently, wired cameras do not support saving videos to the SD card inserted into the hub.

If you need the wired camera to support the feature of saving videos to the SD card inserted into the hub, it is recommended to vote or leave your comments on the thread "C210 allow it to be added to a hub so it doesn't require it's own microSD Card".

Best Regards
