I would like to suggest the ability to schedule motion detection. Currently there is noway to schedule detection.
So if you have the camera in a work area, and you want it to work at night only, there is no schedule ability.
If you could schedule it, you could save battery power.
Also if you set a recording schedule,you can't manually erecord if the schedule is currently off.

You can try to use the Privacy Mode & Automation feature to achieve your requirements.
For example, if you want the camera to work at night only, you can set an automation entry to turn on the privacy mode at a specific time and set another automation to turn off the privacy mode at a specific time for the Tapo C420. When the privacy mode is turned on, the camera won't record and the motion detection feature is also not working.
